| Primary school students nowadays have mobile phones, are computer savvy and surf the Internet with ease. Unfortunately, these communication media also hold dangers. With the SchoolNetGuide series, Swisscom shows where there are dangers for children lurking on the Internet and how you can protect yourself from them (SchoolNetGuides nos. 4 and 6). Our teaching materials also show children the right way to use the telephone and the Internet. Children can reinforce this knowledge by taking a trip to Kindercity with their school class. Swisscom pays the entrance fees for school classes.
It's important that computer use be balanced out by other activities: new studies show that children are not as healthy as they used to be due to a lack of physical activity and poor diet. Swisscom supports the "schule bewegt" ("school moves") campaign that gives tips and suggestions for how to incorporate more physical activity into the classroom.
