Award for the best websites
The SWITCH Junior Web Award is a competition that takes place every year. What’s it all about?
Classes from both primary and secondary schools (I and II) can create a website as part of a project on a subject of their choosing for the chance to win attractive prizes.
Interested teachers can order an introductory pack at www.juniorwebaward.ch containing all the information they need and some useful resources. It’s free to take part and no specialist knowledge is required. The competition is open to both newcomers with no programming skills and teachers and pupils who are already very familiar with websites. School classes have until the end of March 2010 to submit their finalised websites. The work will then be judged by a professional jury and the classes whose websites win a prize will be invited to attend the award ceremony in Zurich.
Swisscom has been a partner of the SWITCH Junior Web Award from the beginning and will present a special prize for "best usability" in 2010. In each category the class with the most user-friendly site will win a fantastic prize: a digital camera for each pupil. Special emphasis this year will therefore be placed on the successful use of high-quality images.
