FAQ - Questions and Answers on Job Applications

 
  How do I apply for a job at Swisscom?
Have you seen an interesting job advertised at Swisscom? Apply online at www.swisscom.com/jobs. When registering, please note that the password must be exactly 8 characters long.

 

  Why does Swisscom prefer online applications?
Online applications are much faster to process. It is quicker than applying by post and the internal processes are also more efficient in electronic form. And by registering your details online, you can also apply for several posts within Swisscom at the same time.

 

  In which format and file size can I upload documents?
You can upload your documents as a PDF, Word or Excel file. The total size of your attachments must not exceed 10 MB. Please do not create a separate file for each document. Combine your details into two or three files (e.g. CV, references, certificates etc).

 

  How up-to-date are the advertised vacancies?
The website only shows positions which have not yet been filled. So the job portal is always up-to-date.

 

  What skills and qualifications do I need?
Above and beyond the professional and personal qualifications and skills highlighted in the job advert, Swisscom is looking for employees whose way of working and attitude show particular characteristics. Above all, our employees must be flexible in the way they think and act. You will fit in well with us if you work with commitment and passion towards providing customers with unique experiences, if you bring in your own ideas and if you regard change as a source of motivation.   Do I need to complete all the details on the different pages?
No, it is enough to provide personal details and attach the appropriate documentation (CV, references, certificates etc.).

 


  Can I interrupt entering my application details and complete them later?
As soon as you register with the application assistant, we will immediately send you the user details for your applicant account. You can use these details to exit the application assistant at any time and continue filling in your details later. All the information you have saved up to that point will be retained.

 

 

What happens to my application after you receive it?
Upon receipt of your application, it is checked carefully by the HR department and the specialist department. If your skills match the appropriate requirements profile, we will invite you for a first personal interview. Depending on the type of position within the company, there will usually be another interview or, in some cases, an Assessment Center.

 

We do, of course, treat your application in strict confidence.

 

  Whom should I contact if I have more questions about applications or about a particular vacancy?
Contact the Swisscom Recruiting Team or the contact person named in the job advert at the following number: +0041 (0)800 800 144. Please have the job reference number to hand.

 

  What happens if I change my candidate profile while an application is in progress?
Changes to your candidate profile take immediate effect.

 

  How long is my information stored in the system?
As an applicant, you are responsible for your own profile and have to delete it yourself when it is no longer required.

 

  I've forgotten my password and/or user name for logging in. How can I retrieve my details?
Answer in the event of prior registration:
In the login area, click on 'Forgotten your password?' and enter your user name and/or the e-mail address you used to register. You will receive a new password within a few minutes, which you must change the next time you log in.
Answer if only an online application has been submitted directly for one position so far:
Click on "Forgotten your password?" in the login area and enter the e-mail address with which you submitted your application. You will be sent a user name and password within a few minutes. You must change this password the next time you log in. Please note: you must enter the old password first and then the new password twice.

 

  What standards of data protection are applied at Swisscom?
Swisscom AG believes that data protection is extremely important. This is particularly true of applicants' personal data. We use secure data transfer and fully comply with data protection regulations. We have implemented an authorisation and data protection concept in coordination with our Data Protection Officer. This means that your details can only be accessed by authorised individuals and are treated with strict confidentiality.
