Competition instead of new monopolies
What it`s all about
The existing copper access networks will reach their maximum capacity in the foreseeable future and will have to be replaced in the coming years with fibre optic cables . This leads to the discussion of who will be allowed to build a fibre optic network, to what extent does cooperation make sense, and under what conditions should fibre optic cables be made accessible to other providers.
Our stance
-
Competition among fibre optics instead of a new monopoly infrastructure. Infrastructure-based competition is the most sustainable form of competition, as it offers customers maximum benefits and is the best way to promote investment and innovation.
-
Every provider should therefore lay their own fibre optic network. However, in order to reduce total investment costs, there should be cooperation when it comes to the installation of fibre optic cables in the sewer system and in-house cabling. This will result in time and cost savings for all parties involved.
