The decision to interconnect PostFinance's EBPP (Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment) system yellowbill with Swisscom IT Services' Conextrade platform was announced in 2005. Thanks to smooth and efficient cooperation between the two companies, the project was completed within a matter of months. The connecting of the platforms will offer customers significant added value. Eliminating the use of paper coupled with the possibility of automating the whole process from billing to archiving including the setting up of links in the archive will enable billing parties and bill recipients to substantially reduce their process costs.

Swiss companies are reporting an ever-increasing demand for electronic billing. Through their cooperation, Swisscom IT Services and PostFinance are responding to this need and thereby contributing to a breakthrough in the field of electronic billing.

To enable the exchange of data between the two platforms, a generic data format was jointly developed whose content is based on the swissDIGIN standard (www.swissdigin.ch) as defined by parties representing their interests. This will ensure the efficient and rapid synchronisation of invoice content between billing parties and billing recipients.
