Measurement

Measurements should always be interpreted with caution.
Customers with an access profile that is the same size or larger than their service profile (e.g. the service profile ""Max. 20,000/1,000"" and access profile ""20,000/5,000"") may notice that they are not receiving the expected downstream bandwidth. There can be various causes for this. For example, the TV set-top box may be utilizing one or even two streams (the television is running and a programme is being recorded at the same time) or, depending on the test method used, resources may be overbooked. The further away the test server is from the access point, the larger these restrictions will be. The installation at the customer's home can also have an affect on the measurements: for example, if a wireless LAN is being used or network cables have been laid. Another aspect relates to the network settings of the computer, which can greatly influence the results.
